Vous Magazine's article about ORSOYA DARCHI's 2023 Dinner and Robes III fashion show. Their event created something that took our breath away. On 22 June, we attended the brand's exclusive fashion show Dinner and Robes, entitled Five Senses, where we were able to discover the designer's Tulum collection, this year's collection, alongside the brand's evening and wedding wear collections. The show was hosted in the magical grove surrounding the brand's atelier, where almost two hundred guests were treated to a show in a stunning setting, with fantastic tastes, sights and music, and a rousing Tulum DJ party. Guests included cultural figures, luxury fashion influencers and journalists, as well as prominent figures from the industry.Orsolya Darcsi, founder and designer, who has been under the spell of individually tailored, handmade clothes since the age of 12, founded her brand in 2015. Seeing their presentation gave a new meaning to commitment, expertise and perfectionism. For the designer who dreams up unique clothes, design is a constant experimentation and immersion, a constant exploration and reinvention of material and technique. It is also a very deep and human process, which is shared with the client. A journey where mere material becomes the fabric of a woman's personality, her femininity, her story. In this process, the fabric comes to life and becomes an immanent part of the owner of the dress. For her, this is the alchemy of design. The secret of the magic of their Thursday night show probably lies in the above notes and in the humility and commitment with which they turn their dreams into reality. The story of the Dinner and Robes shows began in 2021. The first one was held as a sort of sketch, a test of their design, with a relatively small group of friends, but already here they were consciously building and tasting the elements that made their special event what it is today. The idea for this year's collection and the event inspired by the collection was born in January 2022, during a trip to Mexico."We were so moved by the atmosphere of the place, the deep spirituality of the organic existence that pervades everything, that it was then, there, that my husband and I decided to bring the experience with us. I dreamed the clothes, he dreamed the Tulum show." - says Orsolya after the show. The event saw the costumes parade in three acts, and in three parts, to the rhythm of the costumes' presentation, we tasted the flavours of Mexico in fine dining garb, as created by the wonderful chef Ádám Thür of the IKON restaurant in Debrecen. On the catwalk, we saw a total of 45 selections, with impressive show elements and musical accompaniment. The first section was illuminated by natural light filtering through the trees of the grove onto the Real Woman models. In this section, customers who wear these pieces in real life, who live and breathe the clothes they dream of wearing, had the opportunity to step onto the Orsoya Darci catwalk. This is a great initiative to bring the world of the catwalk closer to the world of real women. This was followed by a presentation of wedding and evening dresses. Delicate laces, swishing, shimmering silks, exciting cut lines and finishes that left the body suggestively free, beautifully highlighted the subtle characteristics of femininity. All this was illuminated by the last rays of the setting sun, with music provided by Tulum DJs playing alongside instrumental musicians, who, incidentally, were brilliant throughout the event and always provided the right accompaniment to the show. After a break and the last two courses of the fine dining dinner, the finale of the show came, the presentation of the Tulum collection. By this time, dusk had set in heavily and the dazzling light show was visible, combining natural fire spectacularly with the most modern and extravagant lighting techniques, all in a way that, despite its very prominent presence, did not distract but rather enhanced the magic. At the heart of the Tulum collection is the use of natural materials, inspired by organic forms. The designer makes exciting and innovative use of a trend that is already embedded in street style assemblages, that of nudity, of leaving as much skin as possible exposed, which will be an exciting key piece as a visual communication tool in the coming period. Nudity that is free, suggestive, artistic and inspired. These traits are incorporated into a framework that brings traditional techniques to life in Orsoya Darchi's unique and provocative collection.Naked skin as a starting concept is not alien to art. In Peter Greenaway's The Couple's Book, the human body is used as the parchment of calligraphy, which gives birth to a work that is part visual, part literary, in this classic of cinema. With this collection, the brand has irrevocably made its mark, launching a distinctive line alongside wedding and casual wear that defines and recognises Orsoya Darchi pieces through its conceptualism, experimentation and reinterpretation of traditional contexts. The entrance of the Tulum collection also included exciting show elements, with the models framed by two futuristic figures with stilts and a fire dancer, the perfect visual support for the clothes presented.
