Salon's article of ORSOYA DARCHI's Dinner and Robes IV 2024 fashion show. On the last weekend of June, Hajdúszoboszló was the focus of attention for Hungarian fashion fans: For the fourth time this year, fashion brand Orsoya Darchi organised its unique concept Dinner and Robes evening, combining fashion with gastronomy and unique show elements. This year's event in the spa town was launched with a press conference in Budapest. Thanks to this, more and more people from the capital have come to the event, only to be amazed and regret not having accepted the invitation in previous years. We first attended the brand's event two years ago, and even then it transported guests to another world. This year, the atmosphere was heightened as if a dimensional gateway had been opened to our mundane space-time coordinates.Orsolya and her husband have created a space that is magnificent in its intimacy and opens people's souls to connect in a very special way. While "selling clothes", they offer two more valuable things: an experience and a chance to meet like-minded people. The setting of the evening, the grove of ancient trees surrounding Orsoya Darchi's atelier, the lights decorating the trees, the breathless fabrics hanging like giant veils several metres long, the music masterfully combining ancient and modern atmospheres, set the mood for the experiences that gradually unfolded. The artistic performance of dancers who unexpectedly appeared in different parts of the grove and the performance of artists dressed in mirrored costumes led the models' processions in a sensual way.Meanwhile, the dinner was served by Michelin-starred chef Ákos Sárközi, who not only knows how to prepare food, but also how to present the story of the dishes in words. The modern paintings of his wife Éva Sárközi, a painter, provided an exciting backdrop to the space. We enjoyed the flavours of fine dining in a true all-round experience. But to talk about the dresses, too, Orsolya made a name for herself in the domestic designer palette with her casual gowns. She continues to be fascinated by lace, feathers and silks, while trying something new every year. Last year macramé and knotting, this year leathers and other exciting fabrics have been added to the 'dressmaker's table'. The thirty-minute show, presented in the first round, featured pieces from Orsoya Darchi's classic line 2025, with forty-two casual outfits, of which, as in previous years, green dresses stood out. A few of us noted that Orsolya has a great feeling for green. A dress like this could even be seen on the silver screen one day.At the final show, the models presented thirteen futuristic ensembles. The headdresses for the costumes, which evoke the world of the Dune films, were created by Virág Kerényi, who was herself actively involved in the first Dune costumes. She was also responsible for Lady Jessica's iconic looks. For the Orsoya Darchi show, she brought headdresses perhaps even more spectacular than the ones we saw on the big screen. The event's dress code was based around the colours of the earth, so we all had a little something to add to the experience that defined the evening's spectacle. We were able to experience an ideal coexistence imagined in the distant future through the traditions of the past. The new collection of the Orsoya Darchi brand was conceived around the combination of the ancient and the modern. The designer's new collection is characterised by the variety of natural materials, traditional basics, natural and attractive colours. The design language of the cut lines and the construction with its high-tech visuality creates a world that evokes the atmosphere of science fiction, transporting us to a future of humanity that is perhaps not so distant... " - says the description of the collection. The final chord of the collection linking the past with the future, was embodied in the pregnant mother walking down the catwalk, evoking the memory of her grandmother the seamstress: representing past, present and future in one.
